Rødkål (Red Cabbage)
Country: DenmarkCourse: Side
Makes: 6 to 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 medium red cabbage, finely shredded
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup vinegar, lemon juice or pickle juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup currant jelly (optional)
Directions:
- Melt the butter in a large pot and add all the rest of the ingredients. Cover and cook on low heat until the cabbage is tender (20 minutes or so).
- Remove from heat and stir in the jelly (if using).
