Papeete Tahitian Prawns
Country: French PolynesiaCourse: Appetizer
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 lb prawns
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2-3 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp ground red pepper (more to taste)
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp parsley, finely chopped
Directions:
- Wash and devein your prawns. Set aside.
- Saute the onion in the oil until it starts to turn golden, then add the prawns. Cook until just pink. Season with salt and pepper, then add the white wine, garlic and paprika.
- Cover and let simmer for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
